JOHN TURNER (TET), ASTON OUTSTATION, BIRMINGHAM

Post by turnerj »

Apologies - This is a late posting as I have only recently discovered this website.

John passed away late in May 2004 fom Lymphoma days before his 72nd birthday. His last month was spent in Hospital in Birmingham as doctors struggled to manage his pain.

John completed 40 years of working service during his life.
He served his National Service in the Army in Germany. After working in instrumentation in various power stations in the London area he studied for his City & Guilds and began a career as a Radio Technician which was to see him through to Retirement. He initially worked for the Police Radio Dept at Horley in Surrey, before moving to Birmingham in 1974 where he worked initially at Duke Street for the Birmingham City Police Dept before it became part of the Home Office. The dept was ultimately moved to Park Lane in Aston, and this is where John spent the last years of his DTELs career.

John was a highly liked and respected individual wherever he worked, and is sadly missed by his family.
