Steven, it was on reading this that I was moved to request a login to the forum - even if i was not strictly exDtels personnel. You actioned that very rapidly for which many thanks.

It is very remiss of me to have left it so long before returning to make this post but now that I have I would like to say that Ron made our Pye team very welcome at Marley Hill in 1985 (guessing here...) when we arrived to install the first scheme of RLA3 for M2LB.

It is with sad regret to announce that DTELS.org has been advised of the death of Ron Marwood. He died in Dunston Hill Hospital on Monday 20th November, aged 78 years. His wife, Doreen, survives him with their daughter (Janet) and grandson (Andrew). The service was held at Mountsett Crematorium on Thursday 23rd November at 3.30pm.

Ron is believed to have started as a Wireless Technician at Marley Hill in 1958 and was promoted on-site to Senior Wireless Technician, then Chief Wireless Technician, whereupon he remained until his retirement. A picture of Ron in his early days at Marley Hill appears at: http://www.dtels.org/html/marleyhill_4vr_0.html

If anyone has more information, please e-mail me as soon as possible - see http://dtels.org/html/feedback.html for contact details.
