Burndept C2 Control System

Introduced during the latter half of the 70's, this picture shows the centralised control system which provided multi-operator access to the force radio channels and a limited number of PBX circuits. The main and cold-standby computers are the top two units on the far-right rack and used core store memory. The racks basically provided voice and data switching, together with a degree of signalling capability to provide the required connectivity between the operator terminals and the Radio Schemes/PBX circuits.
