Vehicle Log Book
Each vehicle in the Directorate fleet was issued with an S & T Vehicle or Appliance Record Book. One example of this has been sent in by Graham Dean relating to a Ford Sierra Estate (Reg: H315XHX). The Record Book would have been kept by the officer in charge of transport at whatever location it was used in (it is not the Log Book/Sheet, which was used by the driver). The information gives a potted history of the vehicle's service within DTELS.

First registered on 2/10/1990 it was issued to DTELS Stanmore on 10/11/1990. By December 1990 it had been transferred to Tavistock.
Between June 1991 and January 1992 the windscreen had been replaced three times! As Graham says, unlucky or what? At some stage the vehicle was then transferred to Ruddington where it ended its DTELS service when NTL took over in March 1994. On closure later that year NTL sold off the old DTELS vehicle fleet and on 24 August 1994 H315 XHX was bought by Graham Dean, finally being traded in during the early part of 2001.
