No accurate details available for this photograph. However, Bob Swann has written in and suggested that it may be a GEC Transmitter/Receiver mounted in the back of what he suspects is a Wolsey 18 Hp Police Car circa 1949. If you know anything different, please contact the Webmaster.
"This shot probably shows what the lathe on most depots was used for. I wonder how many Technicians these days could skim a commutator and then under-cut it. I refer of course to the rotary convertor."
