Well, since my last post, I have found a YAHOO ! group that has all the info on it:- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Burndept-BE536BE544/join
so all I need to do now is get access to an eprom programmer !

Hullo, since retiring, I have joined an Amateur radio group, and managed to find a BE544 on eBay, but of course it needs re-programming for the amateur 2 meter band, 144 to 146 MHz and although I have also managed to find an electronic copy of the maintenance manual online:-
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/g0tqn/links.htm It does not have any actual programming data in it, because that was done by attaching a Data Fill Unit and pressing it's button, which automatically programmed the radio! Knowing what to program into the proms is a difficult problem, and so I am wondering if anybody who worked at Kippax might know what data is required in the proms to produce the correct frequency outputs, -or has somebody already done it?
