I have just been informed of the death of David Watts aged 78 in Colchester hospital on 7th October 2014. Dave was transferred to the Directorate from the Directorate of Radio Technology in the early 1980’s and was assigned as a CWT working in R & D section at headquarters where he worked on the WARC project. He was retired by the department when DTels was privatised.
Dave worked for Roger Fudge and spent a lot of time developing methods of measurement for rusty bolt intermodulation products. Just before privatisation he worked alongside Peter Wickson but he didn’t get out into Field Services much.
