Directorate of Telecommunications POLICE SERVICE; Decommissioning By: Steven R Cole
Introduction This section contains a collection of scanned photographs relating to the decommissioning of Analogue Radio Scheme equipment following the migration of Police Forces to the Airwave Digital Communication Network during the earlier part of this decade.
A lot of the now redundant equipment was procured, installed and maintained by the Directorate of Telecommunications during the 1980’s following WARC 79 and by and large remained in operational service for over twenty years. Decommissioned equipment seen in this gallery include that withdrawn from Derbyshire Police, Kent Police, Northamptonshire Police and West Midlands Police.

A short video showing taken at the time of the tower removal at WMP Bournville site can be downloaded from the link in the side menu.
