Directorate of Telecommunications DEPOTS; Cheveley By: Steven R Cole
Introduction This gallery contains a publication by European Antennas in 2001 entitled “The Electron Building” a brief history of the ‘Old Radio Station’ Cheveley, Lamda House and the Electron Building.
The publication was an excellent initiative by European Antennas to record some of Cheveley’s history following their purchase of the site five years earlier from NTL, who had previously acquired DTELS in 1994 and had subsequently taken a decision to close and sell the site.
Acknowledgements: I am indebted to Pamela Cornell (Publicity Manager) at European Antennas for permission to publish this document.
The document itself would not have come about without the many photos and articles from past. Contributors included: Edna Nightingale, Vic Flowers, Barry Trevers, Jack Tweed, Anne Parkes and John Gunson. Please e-mail the Webmaster if any contributor names have been left off this list.
