Directorate of Telecommunications MISCELLANEOUS; IDENTITY CARDS By: Steven R Cole
Introduction All Directorate staff were issued with a Home Office Identity Card.
Commonly known as 'passes' they enabled staff to carry out their duties by gaining access to Directorate sites, as well as demonstrating proof of identity when visiting non-Directorate locations such as customer and supplier sites.
Two such examples are shown opposite. To avoid giving too much detail, the cards have been scanned in black and white and some personal information has been removed. Also, details on the reverse of the card are not shown here.
The photographs used in the passes often looked similar to those seen in a Rogues Gallery - as witnessed by my own!
Acknowledgement: Dave Waspe for his pass.
